Facilitated Working Groups

Continue your learning journey with confidence and connection - via an ongoing support group.

Whether you've recently completed a Dance in Cancer Care Introductory Training programme or are looking to take the next step in your practice, Facilitated Working Groups offer a unique opportunity to grow with guidance.

These small-group sessions provide space for deeper reflection, shared learning, and personal support – helping you to stay connected, inspired, and motivated in your development as a dance artist or movement practitioner working in cancer care.

I didn’t realise how much I needed this until I was in it.

What is a Facilitated Working Group?

Facilitated Working Groups were created in response to feedback from trainees who wanted more time, tailored support, advice and space for reflection after the initial training programme.

Each group meets online 8 times across 6 months and is guided by an experienced Move Dance Feel facilitator. The approach combines group coaching and action learning, creating a supportive environment for you to explore ideas, gain clarity, overcome challenges and build confidence – together.

  • Maximum 4 people per group, to allow space for individual needs

  • Tailored to your current focus and niche area of interest / working environment

  • Open to anyone who has completed a Dance in Cancer Care training programme

What can Facilitated Working Groups support you with?

Facilitated Working Groups are shaped around your goals and interests. They can support you in:

  • Developing and delivering dance projects or programmes

  • Gaining clarity on your ideas

  • Building confidence

  • Reflecting on your practice

  • Prioritising your wellbeing

  • Designing research or evaluation methods

  • Exploring your next steps

  • Signposting you to further learning resources

Groups are formed with care – matching members by stage of enquiry, experience or by specific area of focus. You may be placed with peers from your initial training cohort or with others you haven’t met yet, depending on your shared interests and learning needs.

The group helped me to let go of the fear of the next step.

It became a space where I felt supported and comfortable being vulnerable.

Before being a part of the group I realise I hadn’t prioritised my own wellbeing…now I’m much more aware of that.
